Which water is cleaner: rainwater or ice water?

Rain occurs when water vapor condenses in the atmosphere. Flying through the layers of air, the droplets absorb solid microparticles and soluble gases. Alpine glaciers also feed on atmospheric moisture, but it falls to the surface in the form of snow or hoarfrost, that is, crystals into which foreign molecules are embedded with great difficulty.

In addition, glaciers are usually far from sources of air pollution - densely populated areas and large industrial enterprises. Therefore, the air from which moisture settles on the glaciers contains fewer pollutants.
