Why are airplane windows round?

In the early 1950s, de Havilland produced an aircraft called the Comet. The plane, which was considered a real miracle of aviation. However, a year later, it fell apart into pieces right in the air.

A few months later, this happened to two more aircraft. Engineers ran diagnostics on every single screw on the plane and found the problem. The cause of the disaster was in the windows of the plane - they were square. The fact is that the corners of the windows have a large load, which is even stronger during the flight. The engineers solved the problem by rounding the corners of the windows.

Thanks to this, now it has become much safer to fly.
