Why does a person feel the taste of food?
Taste "notifies" the brain that food containing certain substances is entering the body. So, when sweets enter the mouth, a reflex is triggered that induces the islet cells of the pancreas to produce insulin, and the liver to break down glycogen, releasing glucose into the blood.
First of all, taste is a signal that allows you to determine the suitability of food, to distinguish a ripe fruit from an unripe or spoiled one.
